Melinoe (Melinoë - pronounced "mel-EH-no-ee") is the main protagonist and playable character in Hades 2. In the past, Melinoe was borne with the title of "Chthonic Nymph" but is instead better known as the "Princess of the Underworld", she is the daughter of Hades and Persephone, and the younger sister of Zagreus, the former protagonist of the first Hades game.

Who is Melinoe in Hades 2?
Melinoe (Melinoë) in Hades 2 is described as a petite and slender witch who can harness the ability to use both magic and physical weapons in combat. Her hair is styled in a blonde bob embellished with a crescent moon and a wreath of orange-colored leaves. Just like her brother, Zagerus, she has heterochromia, resulting in her eyes having two colors. One is green, while the other is Red. She is the daughter of Hades and Persephone and is the titular protagonist of Hades 2 where players journey alongside her on a path of vengeance to kill the titan, Chronos.
Little is mentioned about her past except that she is hellbent on slaying Chronos who took everything from her. Melinoe is a chronic nymph, often connected with the spirits and torments of the underworld. It is said that before the events that led to Hades 2, Melinoe had an ecstatic life with her family in the underworld, until Chronos awoke and broke free from his prison in Tartarus, eventually seizing control of the underworld.
As mayhem unfolded in the underworld, Hecate or Headmistress Hecate took the opportunity to rescue Melinoe and trained her to become a powerful magician, a fierce warrior, and a titan slayer, since Hecate firmly believes that she is destined to vanquish Chronos and put an end to his reign. Now in Hades 2, we follow Melinoe who must embark on a treacherous journey to the underworld and triumph over the "God of Time", Chronos.
