Hades 2 Eris Boss Guide

Eris Fight Strategy

As soon as you arrive at the coast, you will find Eris standing between two pillars. She begins the fight after she refuses to get out of Melinoe's way by demonstrating her prowess with gun handling. She can fire off the Deathly Launcher that goes off at lightning speed following Melinoe's movements. Some of these shots will land on the ground with a delayed detonation. Another one of her attacks is the Missile Strike, where she stops moving while holding her gun. She leaves marks on the ground with a red ring followed shortly by a missile that explodes in contact. The best way that you can avoid most of her attacks is to avoid the red rings. There's usually at least 1 ring that covers the immediate area around Eris so it's impossible to land a melee attack while she's stationary.

When Eris' health drops to 70%, she begins to fire the Deathly Launcher at varying speeds and numbers. She can fire off this attack up to 5 times at a high speed, each with about 10-12 projectiles. You will notice Eris bracing herself and a bright orange will appear on her body right before she fires up this attack. This is your signal to run around her as fast as you can and try to time it with the sound so you can avoid getting damaged. You can also use one of the two pillars on the arena if you run out of hiding space.

Eris will gain a few more attacks when you get her health to 50%. She can now fly up to the sky with Flight Incarnate, making her invulnerable. She can't be seen on the screen and she will place red x-marks on the ground where she drops missiles simultaneously. These missiles will explode upon hitting the ground and can be avoided by keeping out of the red rings. During this latter part, the Missile Launcher will gain a variation where the rings get bigger and explode faster.

Eris also uses the Sniper's Mark where she charges up the incoming attack with a visible purple marker on the ground. She will track your movements across the map and delay the attack at the very last second. This attack can get tricky and will take time to practice the right time to dodge. Ideally, fighting Eris will require mastering dash and dodges. You can use the pillars to block some of her attacks but these will also be destroyed after blocking a few hits for you, or you can even accidentally destroy it if you have AoE attacks or abilities. Another thing that you can do against this attack is to move as far away from Eris as you can and then dodge to either side once she fires off the attack.

Lastly, you want to watch out for Eris' Rocket Buff. She usually uses this throughout the fight where she creates a barrier for herself and fires a cannon on top of her location. This damages everything within the ring while she gains a +100% Damage buff. This makes her even more dangerous so you want to avoid her next attacks after she casts this.

Eris Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Deathly Launcher Eris fires missiles at a 45-degree angle that spreads out to cover a wide area. Dash forward and attack her from behind.
Flight of the Incarnate Eris flies upward and places X-marks on the ground where she drops missiles simultaneously. Keep out of the marked locations on the ground.
Missile Strike Eris prepares for a powerful strike marking the ground with a red ring. After a few seconds, she fires up missile strikes continuously on the marked locations. Keep out of the marked locations on the ground.
Rocket Buff Eris protects herself with a barrier and fires a rocket that falls within the marked red ring. This damages everything within the area while she gains a +100% Damage Buff. Keep out of the red ring and avoid her incoming attacks.
Sniper's Mark Eris charges up her rocket attack and tracks Melinoe's movement while the direction is visible on the ground. This will appear purple in color and she will delay the cast right at the last second. Dash about 2-3 times before the marker is right underneath Melinoe, then dash forward once again just as she fires the rocket.
Summons Harpies will join the fight while Eris gains a barrier to make herself invulnerable. Eliminate the harpy-like summons.
